NURBS Wine Glass

On 27/02/13, the first lesson of 3D Artistry, some of the fundamentals of Autodesk Maya were taught. These basics included modelling with the use of NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline). Using the ‘CV Curve Tool’, the exercise was to create a wine glass with NURBS. The CV Curve Tool was used to create the outline of a wine glass using splines, then be made into a NURBS model using the curved surfaces ‘Revolve’ tool. However, only half of the wine glass outline had to be made as the Revolve tool would make a curved surface and bring it around from one side of the outline to the other. The outline used a mixture of grid snapping and curve snapping.
